Welcome Back Everyone we have a great new year of events and activities happening in the Hillside Library Learning Commons. Book checkout will start this next week, September 18th, and some new lunchtime clubs will be starting up in the Library Learning Commons soon.  I am pleased to see our “Library” moving forward into a Learning Commons style of place where we can find learning happening in more than just the books we check out.  We have Little Readers and  the Lego Club moving to the Library Learning Commons on Mondays.  There will also be some Maker Activities, including the addition of technology within some of them on Thursdays, and there will be Primary and Intermediate Rock Clubs on alternate Fridays.  As always there will also be some literacy events, such as The Red Cedar Awards, some book talk groups and hopefully another graphic novel (visual literacy) club.  On top of all this I am excited to get started on our first Scholastic Book Fair in November, during the week of parent/teacher conferences.  Please don’t to forget to check out the other links on this website, including the great book links and research tools, as well as Wonderopolis and Tumble Books found at the bottom of this page.  If you have any questions or “wonders” please don’t hesitate to drop in and talk to me anytime you don’t see me teaching a class.  The Library Learning Commons is always open after school to anyone, and students are encouraged to come visit or exchange their books anytime, there is no need to wait for their next Library block. 🙂
